This past weekend the
nineteenth of November we went to Knoxville Raceway's year end
awards banquet. Everybody that was involved with it did a
wonderful job. I especially enjoy watching the slides of all the
things that happened during the racing year. Even though your
racing there every week there is still a lot of stuff you miss
out on. We won the most improved driver of the year which is
another great award to hang up at our race house. This year we
also received to wings from Vortex racing products, a Hans
device, Kevlar ball housing shield and 5 free pit passes for
perfect attendance. I want to thank everybody that works so hard
to make Knoxville Raceway the greatest dirt track in the world.
See you at the races in 2008! |

This year the CLM team
has a lot to be thankful for as we accomplished a lot of our
goals. We ran very strong all year long but had some DNF's along
the way. We won two more feature events this season which is a
huge accomplishment for anybody. Since 1954 counting all the
races that have been run at Knoxville Raceway including the
nationals only 180 drivers have ever won a feature event in the
big class. We have now won 4 feature events and have moved up
into a tie for 54th on the all time win list at the sprint car
capital of the world. We have also moved up in the point
standings for three years in a row with an excellent finish of
3rd place in the Knoxville raceway cup series point standings.
This was made possible because we have such strong support from
our pit crew, sponsors and fans. Thanks everyone for all your
help and support.
See you at the races in 2008! |

The sprint car capital
of the world Knoxville Raceway announced major rule changes in
2008. They have removed cock pit adjustable shocks and weight
jackers from the cars. I think they should remove the wing
sliders from the cars as well. The team that puts the best setup
on the car should win the race. You shouldn't get a bunch of
chances to get it write. They have also mandated harder tires
for both rear tires. The softest left rear tire you will be
allowed to run will be a D12. No more RD12 compounds will be
allowed. On the right rear tire you will be allowed to run a
SC15 or SC25. There will be at least a three race stretch that
we will all have to run the SC25 on the right rear tires to see
how they work. I would like to see Knoxville Raceway put us on
the SC25 all the time and if that's not enough than we need to
start narrowing up the tires next. Starting on July 1st all
teams will have to run straight flat wings with 1" wicker bills.
They are talking about shortening up the wicker bill for 2009.
In 2009 they have proposed a rule change to go to 2 5/8 injector
stacks to help some of the older engines become more competitive
again. I think that would be another good rule and I'm glad
Knoxville Raceway is looking into the future. We need rule
changes but we need to know most of them a year in advance other
wise it cost the racers a lot of money to change over quickly.
See you at the races in 2008! |

The Calvin Landis
Motorsports team has a tentative race schedule out for 2008.
After having such a successful season this year we would like to
add some more races to that, but we will have to wait for more
tracks and organizations to post schedules, as well as see how
all of our sponsorship programs end up. This should help our fans
to
be able to start making plans for their 2008 race season as
well. Again, I would like to thank all of my
sponsors, crew, family, friends and fans for all your help and
support. Your hard work and support is what keeps sprint car
racing alive today. See you at the races in 2008! |

The Searsboro
Telephone Company team started the final race of the season off
really strong with a qualifying time of 14.895 which put us back
into the 14 second club for the second year in a row. The heat
race was really good for the Searsboro Telephone Company team as
we charged from the fourth starting position to finish in the
second spot. In the feature event the Searsboro Telephone
Company team started on the pole and lead every lap of the 25
lap feature. This win was our second win of the season and was
enough to finally push us into third place in the Knoxville
Raceway Cup Series Standings. I would like to thank all of my
sponsors, family, friends and fans for all your help and
support. Your hard work and support is what keeps sprint car
racing alive today. See you at the races in 2008! |

The Calvin Landis
Motorsports team lost a really good friend over Labor Day
weekend. Bob Dawson had a long hard battle with Parkinson's
disease. Bob Dawson was a huge racing fan. He loved all kinds of
racing, but in the mid 90's his son David got him hooked on
sprint car racing. You see, David was sponsoring this little
team #70 and shortly after that so was 'pop n hot Carmelcorn'.
At the race track Bob was known to a lot of the fans as Mr. pop
n hot and his wife Shirley was and still is known as Mighty
Mouse. Bob & Shirley would follow that #70 car to the races all
over the place. During the time that 'pop n hot Carmelcorn' was
on the side of the car, the team had a lot of success in
Arizona, California & New Mexico. The team won a lot of races
and a couple of championships with their help. Thanks Bob &
Shirley for all your help and support. Bob's funeral services
will be on Monday September 10th. We will miss Bob (Mr. pop n
hot) Dawson. Love you buddy. |

The Ealy Home
Improvements team started off the 25th of August a little rough.
On our first lap of qualifying we broke a set of quick change
gears. Fortunately the hard working crew was able to remove the
old gears, scrape out the debris, put in a new set of gears and
a new rear cover in time to get one lap in at the end of time
trials. In our one lap attempt the Ealy Home Improvements
team put up a very nice lap of 15.367, which put us third quick
out of 29 cars. The team really charged forward from its sixth
starting position to come home in the third position in the heat
race. The Ealy Home Improvements team ran strong in the
main event and came home in the ninth position. Having another
consistent night of racing, the Ealy Home Improvements team has
closed to within 15 points of the third place team in the
Knoxville Raceway point standings. We will need a strong run to
move into third place next week because it is the final weekend
of racing for the 2007 season. Thanks for supporting our
sponsors because without our sponsors we wouldn't be able to
race. We
have Sweatshirts, T-Shirts & Hats available. You can see them by clicking on our
merchandise link. You can order them by sending us an email and
then you can pay through PayPal or sending a check or cash. See you at the races! |

The CLM team started
off the Thursday night of Nationals with a good time of 15.092,
which put the team 20th quick out of 50 cars. In the heat race
the CLM team came home in the same position it started in, sixth.
With so many teams that had qualified well not transferring out
of their heat race, the CLM team had to start 11th in the B-Main.
The team moved to the ninth position and was done for the night,
as only four cars transferred into the A Main.
Friday night's show was moved to Saturday afternoon and the CLM
team finished 2nd in the heat race. In the Main Event we had to
stop on the track because something from the track knocked a nozzle line loose.
We were able to restart
and we finished 20th in the A-Main. On Saturday night, we had to
start 10th in the D-Main and we charged forward to the seventh
position before a caution came out. While restarting the race
running in the seventh position we hit the cone on the front
straightaway. They put us to the back in the middle of the 15
lap race. That's when you saw the CLM team really charge through
the field from the 20th starting position to finish the D-Main
in the seventh position. We
have T-Shirts & Hats available. You can see them by clicking on our
merchandise link. See you at the races! |

The Steenhoek Realty
Improvements team started off the night with a time of 15.397,
which put the team in the nineteenth position out of 37
cars. The Steenhoek Realty Improvements team ran a strong heat
race and came home in the second position. Having an average
qualifying time the Steenhoek Realty Improvements team had to
start deep in the field. The team charged from the fifteenth
starting position to finish in the seventh position in the main
event. The Steenhoek Realty Improvements team maintained its
fourth place in the Knoxville Raceway Cup Series
Point Standings. You can follow our progress
by clicking on our results page. Thanks for
supporting our sponsors, without them we couldn't race. We now
have T-Shirts available. You can see them by clicking on our

The Arizona Race Mart
Racing team started the 28th of July night off very strong with
a time of 15.123, which locked the team into the fourth fastest
qualifying position for the night. In the heat race the Arizona
Race Mart team was extremely fast and appeared to be the fastest
car on the track as we charged forward from the fifth starting
position to finish in the third position. In the main event the
Arizona Race Mart team was running very strong when the high
pressure power steering hose began to fail in the end it caused
our fourth DNF of the season. Unfortunately this broke our
streak of five straight top 5's. We are lucky to have
maintained our fourth place in the Knoxville Raceway Cup Series
Point Standings. You can follow our progress
by clicking on the results page. Thanks for
supporting our sponsors, without them we couldn't race. We now
have T-Shirts available. You can see them by clicking on our

The Sundance Realty
Racing team has been running really strong lately. On the 21st
of July the team continued its consistent ways. The Sundance
Realty racing team qualified in with a time of 15.332 which put
us seventh quick for the night. In the heat race the team moved
forward from the fourth starting position to finish in the third
position. The Sundance Realty Racing team raced really hard in
the feature and came home in the third position. This third
place finish makes it five top
five finishes in a row. The Sundance Realty Racing team
maintained fourth place in the Knoxville
Raceway Cup Series Standings. With four more points races
to go the Sundance Realty Racing team is hoping to continue its
consistent ways of running in the top five so we can move into
third place in the point standings before the year ends. You can follow our progress
by clicking on the results page. Thanks for
supporting our sponsors, without them we couldn't race. We now
have T-Shirts available. You can see them by clicking on our

The Ealy Home
Improvements team was ready for another strong showing on the
14th of July. In qualifying the team timed in with a 15.440
which put us in the 11th position for the night. In the heat
race the Ealy Home Improvements team came home in the 4th
position. In the main event the team put in
another strong performance and came home in the 4th position.
The Ealy Home Improvements team has now moved into fourth place in the Knoxville
Raceway Cup Series Standings. You can follow our progress
by clicking on the results page. Thanks for

The Beth Steenhoek
sponsored team started twin features night, July 7th, off really
well with a fifth quick time of 15.455 . In the heat race the
team came home in the sixth position. In the first feature the
Beth Steenhoek sponsored team maintained its starting spot and
came home in the fifth position. In the second feature the team had to start in the seventeenth
position and ended up charging their way to an impressive 3rd place run.
Having another very successful night the Beth Steenhoek
sponsored team has now moved us into fifth place in the Knoxville
Raceway Cup Series Standings. You can follow our progress
by clicking on the results page. Thanks for supporting our
sponsors, without them we couldn't race. See you at the races! |

started off really well for the Flame-Out Fire Protection team
as the team qualified in the second position with a time of
15.229 . The Flame-Out Fire Protection team charged forward in
the heat from its sixth starting position to finish in the third
position. In the Main Event it was more of the same as the
Flame-Out Fire Protection team started in the 11th position and
raced their way into the fifth position. With another good
finish the Flame-Out Fire Protection team has moved its way into
7th place in the Knoxville Raceway Cup Series Point Standings. See you at the races! |

We would like to
congratulate David & Amber Landis on the birth of their first
child. It's great to have a new addition to the family. Amber
gave birth to a beautiful girl, named Kaci, on the 24th of June,
2007, at 12:30am. Kaci weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz and was 20
1/2 inches long. We believe that Kaci waited until the 24th
because that is David's favorite Nascar number. As you have
figured out, David is a huge Jeff Gordon fan and has been for
many years. David & Amber, Congrats again. Love Calvin &

The Ealy Home
Improvements Racing Team started off the night a little slow
with 13th quick time. In the heat race, the team was really
strong and ran away with the win. In the main event, the Ealy
Home Improvements race team had to start in the eleventh
position and had a bad start which dropped the team to the 14th
spot. Once the Ealy Home Improvements team got going, they charged
their way forward to finish in the 7th position in the main
event. The Ealy Home Improvements race team has maintained its
8th
place in the Knoxville Raceway Cup Series standings. The future
is looking very bright for this # 70 car. See you at the races! |

The Steenhoek Realty
Improvements Racing Team had worked hard all week getting a new
car together for this World of Outlaws weekend. The Steenhoek
Realty Improvements Racing Team started the night off with a
14th place in qualifying out of 50 cars which was pretty good.
In the heat race the Steenhoek Realty Improvements Racing Team
had a very strong 2nd place finish. In the Dash the team
maintained its 7th place starting position. In the main event
the Steenhoek Realty Racing team battled really well running in
the top 10 for most of the event but the choice of going with
spark throwing tires ended up hurting us in the end. The
Steenhoek Realty Improvements Racing Team came home in the 19th
position in the main event. See you at the races! |

Landis wins his 3rd
career feature event at Knoxville Raceway and the 43rd sprint
car feature of his career. The 3rd career feature puts Landis in
a tie for 64th on the all time win list at Knoxville Raceway.
This weekend the Arizona Race Mart team started off the night
with 12th fast time. In the heat race, the team came home in a
strong 4th place finish. In the main event the Arizona Race Mart
team started on the pole and led every lap of the race. Most of
the race the team had a straightaway lead on the entire field.
The Arizona Race Mart team has been really strong all year. Now
that the bad luck is behind us we can give them a run for the
Knoxville Raceway Cup Championship. This win moves the CLM team
into 9th place in the point standings. See you at the races! |

This weekend Knoxville
Raceway had another strong field of thirty-two 410 sprint cars.
It was the fifth race weekend for the Knoxville Championship Cup
Series. The Ealy Home Improvements team started the night off
strong with a time of 15.208 which put us 6th quick. In the heat
race the Ealy Home Improvements teamed started in the fifth
position and moved forward to finish in the 4th position. In the
main event the Ealy Home Improvements started in the third
position and charged its way into the second position. The Ealy
Home Improvements team was in a heated battle for the lead
throughout most of the race. Unfortunately on the seventeen lap
after some hard fought laps for the lead the #70 car had a coil
go bad and the motor shut off. This gave the team its second DNF
of the season and caused the Ealy Home Improvements team to fall
to 11th in the Knoxville Championship Cup Series. I'm really
proud of how well the CLM team is running in 2007 and it is just
a matter of time before we win races. See you at the races! |

The Knoxville versus
IRA show is always a good night of racing. There were fifty-one
410 sprint cars on hand. It produced four heavily loaded heat
races with C, B and A feature events. As fans, you just
can't get more for your money than the show that was put on May
12th. The Steenhoek Realty Improvements team qualified in really
well with a time of 15.213 which put us second quick. In the heat race, the Steenhoek Realty Improvements
team charged from the sixth starting position to take the WIN!
In the main event, the team started in the seventh position and
charged forward as high as the third position before coming home
with a very strong 6th place run in the end. With another strong
run, the Steenhoek Realty Improvements team has moved up to 9th
place in the Knoxville Raceway point standings, and of course
this keeps the Championship drive alive. See you at the races! |

This was our third
racing weekend of the 2007 season. There were 34 cars on hand
for the second regular show this year. The Sundance Realty
racing team qualified in the 18th position. In the heat race the
Sundance Realty team won it easily. In the main event the
Sundance Realty racing team started in the 16th position and
moved forward to the 11th position. With a consistent night of
racing the Sundance Realty racing team moved into the 13th
position in Knoxville Raceway's point standings. This
performance keeps us alive for a championship drive. See you at
the races! |

This weekend we had
the World of Outlaws in town. There was an impressive car count
of 58 cars on hand. The CLM team qualified in 23rd quick,
which put us on the outside of the third row for the heat race.
Five cars transferred into the A-main, and we fell just short,
coming in at seventh place. In the B-Main we were
scheduled to start in the fifth position, but due to not hearing
the World of Outlaws signals to be in staging, we were late and
were moved back one row to the seventh position. After a
hard fought race, the CLM team finished up in seventh position.
Currently, the CLM team is in the 21st position in the Knoxville
Raceway standings. See you at the races! |

The race season has
officially started and the Arizona Race Mart team started off
the season with a very nice qualifying run of a 15.394 which put
the team in 7th qualifying position. In the heat race the
Arizona Race Mart team came home in the 4th position. The pill
draw for the main event inversion was a six. Since one of the
top six teams didn't transfer out of the heat race that put the
#70 on the pole position for the main event. At the drop of the
green flag the Arizona Race Mart team raced its way into the 2nd
position. The top two cars drove away from the rest of the pack
for the first four laps but on lap 5 the #70 while still in the
second position had to go pit side with an over heating motor.
The culprit was a lower radiator hose collapsed even with a
spring in it. The Arizona Race Mart team is currently in 22nd in
the points standings and will be ready to rebound this weekend.
I would like to thank all our Sponsors, family, friends and fans
for all their help and support. See you at the races! |

T-shirts this year. We expect the shirts to be ready in the
beginning of May. The CLM team is preparing for another
successful year. As a team we expect even better results than we
had last year. We expect to have more feature wins and to finish
higher in the point standings than last years 6th place finish.
I would like to thank all our family, friends, sponsors and fans

Knoxville Raceway
releases the 2007 sprint car rules. The biggest change is a tire
rule. The right rear tire will be a spec Hoosier tire in 2007.
The competitors will have three choices to choose from SC12,
SC15, SC25. The tire rule remains the same as far as the tire
you qualify on is the tire you must run on the car in the heat
race and the main event. B-main cars can change there tire for
the B-main only and than the transfer cars must go back to the
original right rear tire for the main event. I think this is a
great rule and I hope that it makes the racing more competitive
this year. See you at the races! |
