We finally get to
start doing what the Beth Steenhoek racing team really loves to
do and that is race the regular season races. The regular season
starts off with the help of the IRA which is a wonderful group
of guys to race with. The Beth Steenhoek racing team timed in
7th quick out of 41 cars. The Beth Steenhoek racing team had to
start in the 5th position in the heat race and from the drop of
the green flag the team really charged forward. While leading
the race with just a few laps to go a rear end lock up and
destroyed everything in the drive line up to the motor. The crew
tried to repair the car as fast as possible but couldn't make
the repairs in time for the B-main. See
you at the races! |

The Arizona Race Mart
team started off the race season in fine fashion with a time of
15.125 which put the team in the 14th position in qualifying out
of 47 cars. In the heat race the team had some struggles with
the woo officiating and came home in the 6th position. That
didn't stop the team as the Arizona Race Mart team rallied back
to a 2nd place finish in the B-Main. Since the team was starting
so far back in the A-main they decided to take the start money
and save the car for another night. See
you at the races! |

does Beth do a lot of hard work on the car at the track and the
race shop. She also supplies every gallon of fuel that the red
fast #70 burns all year long. Without her help and support we
wouldn't still be racing today. Thanks again Beth!!!!! See

The biggest event in
sprint car racing will be held August 12-15, 2009. This year
will be the 49th running of the Knoxville Nationals and will pay
out more than $912,000. for the four night event. There are two
major changes this year. On Friday night, instead of running heat
races, the competitors will be lined up in two B- Mains with the
top 12 cars moving on to the A-Main. The remaining cars will
line up in the D & E-Mains on Saturday night. The biggest change
is something the fans have been asking for a long time. They will
increase the race length by running 10 more laps for the A-Main
on Saturday night to 40 laps. The winner will receive
$150,000.00 again this year. See you at the races soon! |

Knoxville Raceway
continues to make changes so that racing will be more exciting
than ever on a weekly basis. First they increase the 410 purse
and now they will let the teams know how the line ups will be
done for each racing night at the sign in window. Some nights
the teams will qualify getting 2 laps some will qualify with
only 1 lap. While other nights will see group qualifying and
there will also be line ups done by pill draw for the heat
races. Another major improvement is in getting a more
competitive point system for the 410 class in 2009. It will be
the point system that the 360 class has used for years now. The
A-Main point system will pay (1) 100 (2) 90 (3) 80 (4) 70 (5) 60
(6) 50 (7) 45 (8) 40 (9) 35 (10) 30 (11) 25 (12) 20 (13) 15
(14-16) 10 (17-24) 5 points. Heat race points will be (1) 20 (2)
18 (3) 16 (4) 14 (5) 12 (6) 10 and you will receive a 1.5 points
for passing a car in the heat race on nights that the pill draw
system is used for heat race line ups. B-Main points will be (1)
20 (2) 15 (3) 10 (4) 5 and all teams will receive 15 points a
night for participation. This is great news for the fans. It
should make the point chase a lot more exciting for the race
fans all season long. See you at the race track in less than
four weeks. |

In a little more than
ten weeks the Calvin Landis Motorsports team will be on the
track for practice. We have been working hard this off season
getting our team ready for another strong run at the Knoxville
Raceway Championship. We have made some changes and some
things have stayed the same. We will continue to put Arizona
Race Mart parts all over our car and our driver will continue to
use safety equipment from Arizona Race Mart as well. We
will be returning to Maxim Chassis after running an off brand
chassis last year and will again have Wesmar
Racing Engines taking care of our power plants in 2009. We would
like to thank all of our sponsors that have helped us out in the
past, present and future. See you at the races real soon! |

Sprint car racing at
Knoxville raceway in 2009 is looking really good. The hard work
in the office is paying off as Knoxville raceway has landed
Lucas oil as a sponsor for there 410 weekly racing. With this
sponsorship addition the entire 410 main event purse will
increase and they are still trying to land more sponsors so they
can increase it even more for 2009. It's great to see Knoxville
raceway continue to raise the bar all the time. |

I want to thank
everyone that works so hard to make Knoxville Raceway the
greatest place on earth to race every week. Starting with the
staff in the front office, officials, track crew, grounds man,
fire & safety crew, junior fan club members, photographers,
writers, Knoxville raceway charitable organization and all the
other volunteers that it takes to make the show run so smoothly.
We are very honored to have won the sportsmanship of the year
award. That's two wonderful awards in two years. We were
thrilled to have won a set of vortex wings for our year end
prizes. We appreciate the track donating five free pit passes
good for 2009 for all the teams that had perfect attendance this
year. The safety stuff from KRCO is again out of this world. All
of the drivers that participated in 75% or more of the races
will receive a bell helmet, Simpson carbonx top and bottom fire
proof underwear and gloves. We also received seat belts from
impact racing. Happy Holidays. |

Calvin Landis
Motorsports would like to thank everybody that has helped this
team have a successful 2008 race season. We realize without our
sponsors help and support we couldn't continue to do what we
love to do and that is to race to win. This years sponsors are
Flame-Out Fire Protection, Searsboro Telephone Company, Arizona
Race Mart, F-5 Twister Chassis, Beth Steenhoek, In Memory of
"Judge Landis" Ted Henry, Steenhoek Realty Improvements,
Sundance Realty, Ealy Home Improvements, Hoosier Tires, Weld
Wheels, Pro Shocks, Ultra Shield Race Products, Schoenfeld
Headers & Superior Bearing & Supply. CLM would also like to
thank are wonderful and hard working crew which consisted of
Daryl Steenhoek, Cal Landis, Beth Steenhoek, Emily Landis and
John Conrad. Everybody worked so hard and dedicated so much time
to this race team this year. Thanks again everyone for
everything. See you at the races in 2009. |

The "In Memory of
Judge Landis" Ted Henry racing team
continued to heavily focus on qualifying. Since we have been
paying extra attention to our qualifying we have continued to
improve and on August 30th we put up a time of 15.266 which put
us in the 13th qualifying position. In the heat race the "In
Memory of Judge Landis" Ted Henry team started second and came
home in 1st place. In the feature event while running in the
seventh position we started over heating so we had to slow down
to keep from hurting the motor and at the end of the feature we
finished a disappointing 11th place. This season has not been
what we had hoped for but I'm so proud of how our team worked
hard and stuck together. The "In Memory of Judge Landis" Ted
Henry racing team finished the year in 9th spot in the Knoxville
Raceway point standings. See you at the races in 2009! |
|
September 5, 2008 |
|
The Sundance Realty racing team
started off the 23rd of August with a goal in mind of trying to
improve on its qualifying time. They did that with a time of
15.331 but unfortunately so did the other race teams and it put
the Sundance team in the 20th position. The Sundance team moved
forward from its seventh starting position to finish sixth and
get the final transfer spot to the feature event. In the feature
event the Sundance Realty racing team moved forward several
spots to finish in the 13th position. The Sundance Realty racing
team remained in 9th spot in the point standings. See you at the races! |

The Ealy Home
Improvement racing team was really excited heading into Saturday
night the 2nd of August because they had a fresh motor under the
hood. Which its only the second fresh motor of the year. The
Ealy home Improvement team didn't time in like expected with a
time of 15.742 which was 23rd quick for the night. After starting on
the pole in the heat race the Ealy team came home in the second position. The team
continued to change things all night trying to get the motor to
run where it should. In the feature event the Ealy Home
Improvement team finished a disappointing 22nd place. Later on
it was determined that the culprit was a bad coil. The Ealy Home
Improvement racing team fell to 9th spot in the point standings. Hopefully
with only two races remaining the Ealy Home Improvement racing
team can move up in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
August 10, 2008 |
|
The Searsboro
Telephone Company racing team started off the 26th of July with
a good time of 15.362 which again put the team in the 10th
qualifying spot. In the heat race we came home with a strong 3rd
place finish. In the feature event the Searsboro Telephone
Company team finished 5th and came home with another strong
performance this year. The Searsboro Telephone Company racing
team is still in the 7th spot in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
July 25, 2008 |
|
On July 19th the
Flame-Out Fire Protection racing team started out the night with
a time of 15.350 which was 10th quick time for the night. In the
heat race we finished in the 3rd position. The Flame-Out Fire
Protection racing team moved forward to finish in the 9th
position in the feature event. The Flame-Out Fire Protection racing team
fell to 7th spot in the point standings. See you at the races! |

July 15, 2008 |
|
The "In Memory of
Judge Landis" Ted Henry
racing team continues to start the nights off like a rocket.
Even having to go out late since we were the nineteenth car on
the track the team put up the 2nd fastest time of the night with
a 15.178 lap. In the heat race the team started in the sixth
position and quickly moved into the fourth position and looking
for more when something ripped the spark plug wire out of the
boot of the number two cylinder. We finished 2nd in the B-main
with only three corners of suspension on the car. In the main
event the "In Memory of Judge Landis" Ted Henry team struggled
and came home in the sixteenth position. We our hoping that our
luck will change real soon. The "In Memory of Judge Landis" Ted
Henry racing team remains in the 6th spot in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
July 8, 2008 |
|
The Beth Steenhoek
racing team came roaring out of the gate as we put up the
fastest time of the night. In the heat race the team charged
forward three spots to finish in the third spot. The Beth
Steenhoek racing team was hoping for another spectacular twin
features night. In the first feature we came home with a
respectable 6th place finish and in the second feature we
struggled to a 17th place finish. The most important thing for
the Beth Steenhoek racing team is moving up into the 6th spot in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
July 1, 2008 |
|
The Ealy Home
Improvement team started off the night with 3rd quick time. In
the heat race the Ealy Home Improvement team moved forward two
spots to finish in the 4th position. In the feature event the
Ealy Home Improvement team came in the the 5th spot. Top fives
our exactly what this team needs to move up in the points
standings. The Ealy Home Improvements team is in
7th place in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
June 19, 2008 |
|
The Steenhoek Realty
Improvements team started the night off really strong with 2nd
fast time in qualifying. The Steenhoek Realty Improvements team
also moved forward two spots in the heat race to finish in the
4th position. The inversion was a twelve and having the fast
time car that transferred out of the heat race, it meant we had
to start outside the sixth row in the main event. The Steenhoek
Realty team raced really hard and moved forward to finish in the
7th position in the main event. The Steenhoek Realty team is in
7th place in the point standings. As you can see on our
results page this is one spot better than we were in the points
at this time last year and we came home 3rd in the point
standings. Let's hope we can finish strong again this year. See you at the races! |
|
June 2, 2008 |
|
The Sundance Realty
team was hoping for another strong run on Saturday night, May
31st. We started out with a qualifying time of 15.232 that put
us 13th quick time. In the heat race the team had a very strong
2nd place finish. Having an average qualifying time made our
starting position in the middle of the pack for the main event.
The Sundance Realty team moved forward to finish in the 9th spot
in the main event. Having another racing weekend behind us, the
Sundance Realty team is in 9th place in the point standings. See you at the races! |
|
May 27, 2008 |
|
This morning we got
about a half inch of rain. The track crew did an excellent job
getting the track ready. The Searsboro Telephone Company car
timed in 10th quick. We started fourth in our heat race and
finished in 3rd place. In the main event we started on the pole,
but didn't get the jump at the start. During the first half of
the race we were putting constant pressure on the leader and
nearly took the lead four times. While doing this our tired
motor, which hasn't been rebuilt since 2006, began to smoke. In
the second half of the feature the motor began to lose power. We
fell back to a fourth place finish. In the end we were just
happy to finish. The Searsboro Telephone Company team has moved
up to 7th place in the Knoxville Raceway point standings. See you at the races! |
|
May 21, 2008 |
|
Our first official
regular race of the year is in the books. The Arizona Race Mart
team qualified in 19th quick time. We won our heat race by an
entire straightaway over second place. While in a heated battle
for 12th place during the A Main, with one lap to go in a rubber
down affair, the caution came out. Under the caution our right
rear tire went flat. We didn't want to start the season off with
a DNF but that's the way it goes. We are currently 16th in
points at Knoxville Raceway.
See you at the races! |
|
|
May 7, 2008 |
|
Finally the rain has
stopped and we get to have our first race at Knoxville Raceway
this year. We started off the night with 36th quick time which
wasn't what we were hoping for. We started ninth in our heat
race and ran eighth. Then we started sixteenth in the B-Main and
moved forward to eleventh place. We used a provisional to start
the A-Main 26th but we had a nozzle get knocked lose and had to
pull in in the middle of the race. After the races were over we
realized why we had been struggling so much all night. We had
two bad torsion bars in our F-5 chassis, so we hope our next
race will be better.
See you at the races! |
|

Last night we got two
practice sessions in at Knoxville Raceway. For a new car out of
the box this F-5 Chassis felt the best I have ever had at
Knoxville Raceway for a new car out of the box. I'm really
excited about the direction my race team is going. I think this is
our best shot ever to win even more races, have a bunch of top
five finishes and win a championship at Knoxville Raceway in 08.
See you at the races! |

April 16, 2008 |
|
On April 12th, we
received the first of two F-5 Twister chassis for this year. We

On Saturday March 8th, Manzanita Speedway had a tribute to Jimmy Blanton. This
was a night that was so special to me and my family. Jimmy has
done so much to help so many racers across the United States and
its great that somebody has recognized everything that Jimmy &
Pam have done for racing. The Jimmy Blanton night was wonderful.
There were so many past and current drivers there to share part
in Jimmy's night. I personally want to thank Jimmy and Pam for
everything they have done to help me out over the last 20 years
of racing. See you at the races! |

The CLM team heads to
Arizona to knock off some rust and see family and friends. We
would like to thank Hammerheads Ocean Grill for making this trip
possible. We started off the night a little rough. While warming
up the motor, we sheared the pin on the gear drive of the Mag.
That caused us to miss hot laps so our first lap in six months
was qualifying where we timed in 20th quick. In the heat we
maintained our position, and we came home in the 19th position in
the A-Main with the World of Outlaws. It's not the start we were
looking, for but it could always be worse. I want to thank all my
west coast fans for coming out and supporting our team. See you
at the races! |

Hoosier Racing Tires
will be back on the CLM car again in 2008. We are pleased to
have Hoosier as a partner again. Hoosier has been along time
partner of CLM and we hope that continues for a long time to
come. Having the best racing tires on our car again this year
will help us in a run for the Knoxville Raceway Cup Series
Championship. See you at the races! |

Beth Steenhoek has
made it official that she will once again be back with the CLM
team this year. Beth has been a long time sponsor of CLM. Her
logo has been a fixture on the car for several years now but
before that she was a silent sponsor behind the scenes. We are
so lucky to have Beth continue to be a part of CLM team as we
work our way up the ladder to a Championship |

Ever since Steenhoek
Realty Improvements has been a partner of CLM, the team has
shown great improvement. For the three years that Steenhoek
Realty Improvements has been a partner, the team has moved up at
least three spots in the point standings each year. Last years
performance was a wonderful 3rd place in the point standings.
Having Steenhoek Realty Improvements on our side, I see a very
bright future for CLM. Thanks for all your help and support
Jerry & Chris. |

sponsor for CLM for the last couple of years Searsboro Telephone
Company has decided to put its logo back on our sprint car full

Telephone Company banner again this year as we make a run for the
Knoxville Raceway Championship. |
